A grieving family in Kaloleni, Kilifi County, is calling for justice after their 14-year-old daughter died under mysterious circumstances shortly after receiving an injection at a private hospital in Bombolulu on October 7, 2025.
The deceased, a Grade Eight student at Twinkle Stars Junior Secondary School, reportedly began experiencing complications while on her way home from the hospital.
According to relatives, the teenager—identified as Muthoni—started frothing at the nose during the journey to Mariakani and was pronounced dead shortly after. Family members say she had visited the facility seeking treatment for a persistent cough, where a medic allegedly administered an antibiotic injection. Her condition is said to have deteriorated almost immediately after leaving the hospital.
A post-mortem examination conducted on October 8, 2025, at the Kilifi County Referral Hospital failed to determine the exact cause of death, prompting further investigation.
Authorities have since forwarded samples, including foam collected from the victim’s body, to the government chemist for comprehensive forensic analysis to help establish what caused the tragic incident.
