Following a domestic dispute in Mutunduri in Embu, police are looking for a man who is suspected of stabbing to death his wife by stoning her.

After being struck by a stone on the head in front of her two children on Monday, Phylis Nyelemima, 32, passed away immediately from her wounds.

The man allegedly confronted his wife and began arguing with her for unspecified reasons, according to the witnesses. The attacker then took up a stone and hit Nyelemima in the head, knocking her to the ground.

After the deadly attack, the attacker fled, leaving the victim with severe bleeding.

Responding to screaming, neighbors saw the woman dead on the ground and called the Embu West Sub-County police station.

When detectives got on the site, the victim's body was taken to the mortuary of Embu Referral Hospital for a postmortem examination.

William Owino, the deputy county commissioner for Embu North, said that the attacker fled the scene after killing his wife and that police were looking for him.

"The individual has been sought so that he can face the law," stated Mr. Owino. "He has swiftly fled the site after committing the crime.

He declared that the government took gender-based violence seriously and that if the perpetrator is captured, no mercy will be shown.

He declared, "The suspect can flee, but we'll catch up with him."

When parents disagree on family matters, Mr. Owino recommended them to communicate to one another rather than confront each other.

To prevent such deadly acts, he stated, "Parents should communicate to address household concerns, especially over Christmas."

After what happened in the community, the locals claimed they were still in shock.

One of the locals claimed, "The couple had been living happily since they arrived in our hamlet last year and tonight is the first time we hear them fighting."
