A student and two juveniles are being held by Kisumu police on suspicion of conducting a robbery on Saturday night.

In a case of mob justice, police intervened and saved an 18-year-old man who had been caught stealing a local adjacent to Kisumu Moi stadium.

Officers who responded to the complaint determined that the suspect, Brian Odongo, alias De Palmer, was a student at Michinda High School in Elburgin, Nakuru County, according to a police report.

The report stated that "he was with four other people who had attacked one victim, Anthony Okumu, who was 21 years old."

A Samsung phone worth Sh29,000, a headphone, and Sh300 in cash were stolen from the victim.

According to reports, the other thieves fled in the night after one suspect was cornered by bystanders who had responded to the victim's calls.

Officers came to find the victim receiving first aid after the defendant, who had been apprehended, had struck the victim in the mouth with a fist that contained five large signet rings, causing the victim to lose two teeth.

The guy admitted during questioning that he was a part of the Peddy gang, a four-man gang.

The story says that two more suspects were apprehended after "he took the officers to the residences of his collaborators in the Nyalenda slums."

The two individuals detained were discovered donning branded t-shirts bearing their identities and were ages 17 and 16.

The stolen goods were not recovered while police searched for the fourth suspect, who is still at large.

When the inquiry is over, the three will be charged in court.
