Police in Ruiru are looking into the circumstances surrounding the murder of a matatu tout working for Lopha Tours on the Nairobi CBD-Ruiru route.

Nahashon Ng'ang'a died from injuries acquired in a mystery accident the night after apparently disagreeing with his driver about money.

Ng'ang'a, who died on Wednesday at Kenyatta University Teaching and Referral Hospital, was found on the Thika Super Highway after allegedly being pushed out of a moving matatu.

"My brother had a disagreement with the driver whom they were working with on Saturday night, and then the commotion went to the next morning, which was on Sunday, and nobody knows how it finished," said Daniel Waweru, the deceased's brother.

Waweru stated that his brother had major brain injuries and was rushed to the K.U hospital, where he was placed to the intensive care unit until Wednesday afternoon, when he died.

"We don't have the evidence to say whether he was pushed, kicked out, jumped on his own, or was hit by a vehicle," he continued.

Ruiru Police Commander Alex Shikondi clarified that the car seen on social media was the one that rescued and rushed the victim to the hospital, and that inquiries into the case had begun.

"We do not have any eyewitnesses who witnessed the accident, but we have started the file and are inviting members of the public who may have witnessed the event to come forward and record comments," he said.

As the family prepares for burial next week, a post-mortem examination is scheduled for Friday to identify the cause of death.
