A family in Mwingi is in grief after two brothers were killed in a domestic dispute.
One of the brothers, a 35-year-old man, is accused of fatally hacking the other before committing suicide.
According to Mwingi Sub County Police Commander Kyalo Kazungu, the two were working on the property when a fight erupted, and one brother hacked the other, leaving him for dead.
The injured man was transported to Mwingi Level Four Hospital, where he died while undergoing treatment.
The offender then, according to the neighbours, shut himself in the house and committed suicide.
"The man who has hanged himself was arguing with his brother. ..he attacked his brother and when we came we took him to the hospital. When we returned to look for him, we unlocked the door and discovered he had killed himself," a neighbour, Peter Mwendwa, recalled.
Following the occurrence, residents on the scene expressed shock.
"I personally believe this is a curse because the two males are descended from the same mother...
It is wrong to murder your brother. "I am appealing to the youths in this region, if you are using any substance, please go to church and repent," another resident, Bernard Kilunda, said.
Their remains were sent to the Mwingi Level Four Hospital Mortuary.
Since then, police have initiated investigations to determine the source of their disagreement.
