Former President Uhuru Kenyatta, according to Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and National Assembly Majority Leader Kimani Ichung'wah, is behind Raila Odinga's planned demonstrations on Monday.
Kenya Kwanza Alliance leaders addressed on Saturday in Kirinyaga County, where a part of Mount Kenya Members of Parliament honoured DP Gachagua as the region's top-ranked leader.
"These individuals who sponsor this mzee should quit living in denial...this mzee died...there is nothing they can do," the DP added.
"Uhuru Kenyatta because you are the main backer of the demonstrations," Ichung'wa remarked. Raila Odinga is a humanitarian supported by Uhuru Kenyatta."
While urging security forces to defend civilian property before, during, and after the demonstrations, DP Gachagua stressed that President William Ruto will not be intimidated by the planned mass action.
"I want to tell the people of Kenya that enough arrangements have been taken to protect the lives and property of Kenyans. We want Kenyans to get on with their lives. "Huyo si mtu wa kuuziwa uwoga...uwoga uliuzia yule mtu wa cerelac," the DP stated.
"On Monday, the Kenyans who want to go about their business wapatiwe nafasi yao waendelee na kazi yao bila kusumbuliwa na mtu yeyote...because there should come a moment when we say enough is enough," Senate Majority Leader Aaron Cheruiyot remarked.
Governor Kenneth Lusaka and Senator David Wakoli Wafula led the Kenya Kwanza coalition offensive against Odinga in Bungoma County, declaring that the government will not tolerate loss of life and property come Monday.
"A properly sworn-in administration is not something to joke about...na hakuma mtu atakubalia kwenda hiyo State House," Governor Lusaka stated.
The leaders spoke at the funeral of Eng. Francis Wangusi, the late former Director General of the Communications Authority (CA).
