After leaving English club Newcastle on Sunday, French winger Allan Saint-Maximin signed a three-year contract with Al-Ahli in Saudi Arabia, adding another elite talent to the league of the resourceful and ambitious Gulf nation.

He's one of the greatest we choose, according to Al-Ahli, who posted the statement online.

The deal's financial details were not made public, although according to English press estimates, it was somewhere about £30 million ($38.5 million).

Saint-Maximin, 26, has played 124 times for Newcastle since signing from Nice in 2019 and has scored 13 goals. Newcastle is backed by Saudi Arabia.

Jordan Henderson, Cristiano Ronaldo, Roberto Firmino, Riyad Mahrez, Karim Benzema, and more well-known athletes have all joined the Saudi Pro League.
