President William Ruto has appointed former Cabinet Minister Phyllis Kandie as one of his advisers.
Kandie took to X, formerly Twitter, on Tuesday, September 19, to share her new role as Commodity Market Development Advisor.
She said: “I want to thank the President for the honor of being his advisor on commodity market development.
According to Kandie, who served as CS on East African Affairs and Labor in the government of retired President Uhuru Kenyatta, this new role comes with a clear mandate to work towards rationalizing the agricultural sector in Kenya .
“I am committed to working hard with all stakeholders to ensure that his vision of streamlining the agricultural sector by establishing a recognized and regulated national commodity exchange, private sector leadership and will connect farmers with domestic and international markets, becoming a reality,” she declared. declare. Kandie's previous positions include Cabinet Secretary for East African Affairs and Labor from 2013 to 2018.
She also served as Cabinet Secretary for Trade and Tourism during the administration of former President Uhuru Kenyatta.
