Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak hospitalized in Mexico

Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak was hospitalised in Mexico City on Wednesday, a source told the organisers of the World Business Forum (WBF), an event he attended in the country's capital.

Sources say Wozniak, 73, was taken to the hospital at 3 p.m. local time after losing consciousness minutes before he was due to participate in the event.

Wozniak was the technological genius behind the first Apple computers and worked with Steve Jobs to found and grow the company.

 

Wozniak, or "Woz," as he was known in Silicon Valley circles, designed the Apple I and Apple II computers, revolutionising personal computing and making Apple a market leader.

 

Wozniak was the technical engineer behind these systems, while Jobs was the marketing expert and visionary.

The two co-founders of Apple, now the world's most valuable company, were in Jobs' garage in California in 1976.
