Raila Odinga, the leader of the Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Party, has urged President William Ruto to explore other sources of income for national development instead of burdening Kenyans with taxes.

Odinga criticised President Ruto for burdening underprivileged Kenyans with taxes, arguing that taxation is not the solution for addressing the development requirements of the Kenyan people.

The opposition leader expressed that Kenyans are already struggling with the rising cost of living, and yet the Kenya Kwanza administration continues to impose taxes on them regularly.

He mentioned that the rising taxes on essential goods have made it difficult for numerous households to afford their daily necessities.

He blamed Ruto for not fulfilling his duty to lower the cost of living for the people of Kenya. He encouraged Ruto to bring back job opportunities such as Kazi kwa Vijana and Kazi Mtaani in order to boost the flow of money in the country.

On Monday, Odinga launched an ODM party registration drive to combat the infiltration of the UDA party in his stronghold of Nyanza while speaking.
