President William Ruto has reappointed former East African Court of Justice judge Charles Nyachae as Chairperson of the Kenya School of Government (KSG) for a new three-year term. The announcement was made through a Gazette notice published on Friday, confirming Nyachae’s continued leadership at KSG effective immediately.

Nyachae, a respected constitutional lawyer, previously chaired the Constitution Implementation Commission and has been at the forefront of Kenya’s legal and governance reforms. He first took up the KSG chairmanship on January 24, 2024, with his initial term set to run until July 12, 2025. His reappointment reflects continued confidence in his leadership, especially following his recent shortlisting for the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) chairmanship—a position ultimately filled by Erastus Ethekon.

In the same notice, President Ruto made additional strategic appointments across critical institutions:

  • Abdi Mude Ibrahim, former Member of Parliament for Lafey (2017–2022), has been named Chairperson of the Board of Directors at the Kenya Veterinary Vaccines Production Institute. He will serve for a three-year term, bringing his parliamentary experience to a sector vital to the country’s livestock economy.
  • Ali Noor Ismail, who served as Principal Secretary for Labour and later for Cooperatives under the Jubilee administration, will take over as Chair of the Pest Control Products Board. His three-year term signals a renewed focus on improving regulatory oversight in agricultural inputs and food safety.

These appointments underscore the Ruto administration’s efforts to strengthen leadership in public institutions, with a particular emphasis on governance, agriculture, and service delivery.
