A former USIU-Africa student, Dancun Livingstone Kimathi, has been convicted of murdering fellow student Sarah Akello Aruwa in a case dating back to 2012. The court found that Akello was lured into a trap, abducted for ransom and later strangled. Kimathi will be sentenced on October 26, 2026.
Buruburu detectives have launched a manhunt for a man suspected of killing his 21-year-old girlfriend, Fransisca Wanja Thuranira, at her apartment in Umoja Two Estate, Nairobi. Police say the victim sustained multiple stab wounds as investigations into the homicide continue.
