The Political Parties Disputes Tribunal has certified as urgent a case filed by Pauline Njoki Njoroge, Faith Odhiambo and Michael Caroli Omondi challenging the Registrar of Political Parties’ decision to reject the reservation of the Linda Mwananchi Movement (LMM) name. The applicants claim the Registrar initially agreed to reserve the name before reversing the decision over the use of the acronym LINDA by another political entity. They are seeking orders preventing the registration of similar names in favour of another party or entity pending determination of the case. The matter will be heard inter partes on August 25, 2026.
