The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission has arrested three suspects over alleged money laundering involving Ksh.92.06 million linked to Turkana County government contracts. The funds were allegedly paid to Apuco Holdings Group Limited and Natiltila Company Limited between 2013/14 and 2024/25. The DPP has approved the prosecution of eight suspects, who are expected to face charges including conflict of interest, unlawful acquisition of public property, money laundering and dealing with proceeds of crime.
British electronic artist Skyla Tylaa, Kenyan singer Sofiya Nzau, American R&B star Chloë Bailey and Deepa are joining forces for “Makuhia,” a new single scheduled for release on August 28, 2026. The collaboration fuses British amapiano and house with contemporary R&B and traditional East African vocal styles, spotlighting Kenyan musical heritage for a global audience.
Embakasi East MP Babu Owino has reaffirmed his support for Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna, dismissing reports of political differences between the two. Babu said attempts to portray the opposition as divided were aimed at weakening its challenge to President William Ruto’s administration. He urged Sifuna and other opposition leaders to build a united front ahead of the 2027 election, warning that internal divisions could strengthen the Kenya Kwanza administration.
Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has alleged that the IEBC’s procurement of an Integrated Elections Management System has been predetermined to favour Miru Systems of South Korea. He questioned the tender specifications, electoral data transfer plans and the independence of IEBC officials, while warning of potential voter suppression and manipulation ahead of the 2027 General Election. Gachagua also raised concerns about Miru’s reported performance in elections abroad and called for greater scrutiny of the procurement process. The allegations have not been independently substantiated.
President William Ruto’s son, George Ruto, has met Westlands Primary School teacher Priscilla Wanjiku Karanja, popularly known as Teacher Cillah, following weeks of viral social media exchanges. During the Nairobi school visit, George clarified that he is already in a relationship, effectively ending speculation about a possible romance with Cillah. He also interacted with Grade Three pupils, participated in a multiplication lesson, planted a tree and pledged to support the school with learning and sports resources.
