Kajiado County, Kenya – Two men are fighting for their lives at Kajiado Referral Hospital after they were allegedly shot by a senior officer attached to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).

The incident occurred at around 2:30 a.m. on Monday at a popular entertainment joint in Kitengela, following what witnesses described as an altercation between the officer and the two victims.

Victims in Critical Condition

Medical reports indicate that the victims, identified as Joseph Musoontu and Kelvin Maseri, sustained serious gunshot wounds to the abdomen. One of them also suffered a head injury.

The two were initially rushed to Kitengela Sub-County Hospital before being transferred to Kajiado Referral Hospital, where they are currently receiving specialized treatment.

CCTV Footage and Witness Accounts

CCTV footage from a nearby building shows several individuals engaged in a confrontation at the entrance of the club around 2:20 a.m. Minutes later, panic erupted as patrons fled the premises, shortly after gunshots were believed to have been fired.

According to preliminary reports, the senior DCI officer allegedly drew his firearm and shot the two men. He was reportedly in the company of three other officers at the time.

Officer at Large

The officer fled the scene and remains at large. The DCI has yet to issue an official statement regarding the incident, raising concerns about accountability and transparency.
