Tumbler Ridge, British Columbia – A tragic mass shooting in a remote part of western Canada left nine people dead on Tuesday, including seven victims at a secondary school and two others at a nearby residence, according to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP).

Police said an alert was issued Tuesday afternoon about an active shooter at Tumbler Ridge Secondary School. Responding officers discovered six victims shot dead inside the school, while a seventh victim died while being transported to hospital.
Authorities later identified a secondary location connected to the incident, where two additional victims were found deceased at a residence.
