The Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) has announced a reduction in fuel prices, effective from February 15 to March 14.
Super petrol, diesel, and kerosene prices have been lowered by Ksh.4.20, Ksh.3.90, and Ksh.1.00 per litre, respectively.
New Prices Across Major Cities
- Nairobi: Super Petrol – Ksh.178.28, Diesel – Ksh.166.54, Kerosene – Ksh.152.78
- Mombasa: Super Petrol – Ksh.175.00, Diesel – Ksh.163.26, Kerosene – Ksh.149.49
- Nakuru: Super Petrol – Ksh.177.34, Diesel – Ksh.165.95, Kerosene – Ksh.152.21
- Kisumu: Super Petrol – Ksh.178.16, Diesel – Ksh.166.76, Kerosene – Ksh.153.03
The revised prices will remain in effect for 30 days starting midnight on February 15.
Tax and Regulatory Framework
EPRA Director-General Daniel Bargoria noted that the new prices include the 16% Value Added Tax (VAT), in line with the Finance Act 2023, the Tax Laws (Amendment) Act 2024, and excise duty adjustments for inflation under Legal Notice No. 194 of 2020.
