Naiyanoi Ntutu Ng’eno, the widow of the late Johana Ng’eno, remembered her husband as a devoted family man during a memorial service held on Wednesday for the six victims of the tragic helicopter crash in Nandi County on 28 February 2026.

A Loving Husband and Father

In her eulogy, Naiyanoi reflected on the early days of their marriage, highlighting her husband’s care for their family and his dedication to nurturing their two children.

“Your laugh made ordinary days feel like a celebration. And the way you loved your children, you adored them, held them with pride and looked at them like they were your greatest accomplishment. In their eyes you were their hero, in mine, you were a gentle, devoted father with a gentle heart,” she said.

She described the loss as “losing the music of my youth, the laughter, the dreams,” and vowed to uphold the foundation her husband created in their marriage.

Honouring Other Victims

The memorial service also paid tribute to the other five victims: Captain George Were, Amos Kipng’etich, Nick Kosgey, Robert Keter, and Wycliffe Kiprotich Rono. Families and loved ones of all victims gathered to honor their lives and contributions.

Burial Arrangements

Johana Ng’eno is scheduled to be buried on Friday, 6 March 2026, while a joint burial service for the remaining victims will take place at Emurua Dikirr Primary School. The service serves as a solemn reminder of the lives lost and the enduring impact on the community.
