Kenya’s New Consul-General to Haiti Noor Gabow Presents Credentials, Vows to Deepen Bilateral Ties

Kenya’s newly appointed Consul-General to Haiti, Noor Gabow, officially presented his credentials on Tuesday to Haiti’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Worship, Jean-Victor Harvel Jean-Baptiste, during a ceremony at the Ministry’s headquarters in Port-au-Prince.

Gabow, who previously served as Deputy Inspector General of the Administration Police, was appointed to the diplomatic role on December 20. Following the formal presentation, he held a private audience with Minister Jean-Baptiste, where he conveyed greetings from President William Ruto and the people of Kenya.

In his remarks, Gabow reaffirmed Kenya’s commitment to strengthening bilateral relations with Haiti, particularly in the areas of peace and security diplomacy. “He committed to fostering and deepening the bilateral relations and in particular Peace and Security diplomacy between the Republic of Kenya and Haiti,” a statement released after the meeting noted.

Minister Jean-Baptiste welcomed the new envoy and thanked Kenya for its leadership in the Multinational Security Support (MSS) mission, which is supporting the Haitian National Police in efforts to restore stability amid escalating gang violence.

Gabow’s appointment is seen as a strategic move that underscores Kenya’s growing diplomatic footprint and its pivotal role in the international response to Haiti’s security crisis.
