Manchester City Sign Record-Breaking £1 Billion Kit Deal with Puma

Manchester City have secured a landmark commercial victory by signing a record-breaking kit deal with Puma worth a reported £1 billion (approximately Ksh 178 billion) over the next decade. The new agreement, which runs until 2035, will see the reigning Premier League giants earn £100 million annually — making it the most lucrative kit manufacturing deal in Premier League history.

This new contract surpasses the previous benchmark held by Manchester United’s £90 million per year deal with Adidas, signed in 2023, and places City among the elite in global football alongside Real Madrid and Barcelona, who reportedly command similarly high figures.

City first partnered with Puma in 2019 under a £65 million per year deal. Over the last six seasons, the relationship has grown from strength to strength, both commercially and competitively. City Football Group CEO Ferran Soriano hailed the collaboration, stating, “We joined forces with Puma with the ambition to challenge ourselves and go beyond expectations. We have achieved this and more.”

Puma CEO Arthur Hoeld echoed the sentiment, celebrating the partnership’s success: “Trophies, a perfect stage for our performance products, and commercial success were exceptional.”

Despite signing this historic deal, Manchester City enter the 2025–26 season following a rare trophyless campaign — their first since 2016–17. Pep Guardiola’s side finished third in the Premier League, lost the FA Cup final to Crystal Palace, and were eliminated early from the Club World Cup by Al-Hilal.

Nevertheless, this Puma partnership reaffirms Manchester City’s stature as a global football powerhouse and highlights the club’s enduring commercial appeal, even during a transitional period on the pitch.
