Democratic Change Party (DCP) leader and former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has officially opened the party’s first satellite office in the United States, marking a significant step in expanding the party’s international footprint and strengthening ties with the Kenyan diaspora.
Located in Seattle, Washington, the newly inaugurated North Pacific Chapter Satellite Office is designed to serve as a vital hub for Kenyans living in the region. According to Gachagua, the office will enhance political engagement, facilitate community development, and provide a direct link between diaspora communities and the DCP leadership in Kenya.
“This new office will strengthen our efforts, foster greater engagement, and bring our initiatives closer to the people of Seattle and the surrounding areas,” Gachagua stated in a post shared on his social media platforms.
The DCP leader, currently on a two-month tour across the U.S., described the launch as a “new milestone” in the party’s journey toward building a more inclusive and globally connected political movement. He emphasized the role of the diaspora in shaping Kenya’s future, calling for increased participation in national development and policy-making.
The Seattle office will host forums, provide support services, and serve as a bridge for real-time dialogue between Kenyans abroad and the DCP’s policymakers at home. Gachagua believes this expansion will not only solidify the party’s support base abroad but also empower diaspora communities to play a more influential role in the country’s governance.
The launch comes amid rising political activity in Kenya as parties position themselves ahead of the 2027 general elections, with DCP leveraging both local and international platforms to grow its presence and influence.
