Usyk vs. Dubois: Heavyweight Clash Set for Wembley as Ukrainian Champion Eyes Undisputed Glory

Ukrainian boxing great Oleksandr Usyk is set to defend his WBA, WBO, and WBC heavyweight titles in a much-anticipated undisputed showdown against IBF champion Daniel Dubois at Wembley Stadium this Saturday.

At Friday’s weigh-in, Usyk stepped onto the scales at a career-heaviest 16st 3lbs (102.97 kg), signaling peak physical form as he aims to unify the heavyweight division for the third time in his career. His opponent, Daniel Dubois, came in leaner than ever at 17st 6lbs (110.67 kg)—notably lighter than his last outing against Anthony Joshua and significantly trimmer than for his previous encounter with Usyk in 2023, which ended in a ninth-round stoppage loss.

Dubois, now riding a three-fight win streak since that defeat, including a notable victory over Joshua, appeared confident and defiant at the weigh-in. Addressing a largely pro-Usyk crowd, he declared: “I am going to win by any means necessary.”

Usyk, undefeated in 23 professional bouts and still riding high after his back-to-back wins over Tyson Fury, downplayed concerns about age, saying: “38 is not old, you know? We will see on Saturday.”

The bout holds historic significance, as no British boxer has held undisputed status in the heavyweight division since Lennox Lewis in 1999. With both fighters in peak condition and tensions high, the Wembley clash promises fireworks—and possibly a defining moment in modern heavyweight boxing.
