The family of Husein Abdirahman Mohamed, the Huduma Centre Manager in Wajir town, is grappling with fear and uncertainty following his sudden disappearance five days ago. Known for his dedication and integrity in public service, Husein vanished without a trace after leaving for work, and has not been heard from since.
During a heartfelt press briefing on Saturday, Sheikh Abdiwahab Osman, a close relative, expressed the family’s deep anguish. “We stand before you with heavy hearts. Hussein left for work and never returned. His phone has been off. No word. No clue. We are desperate for answers,” he said.
Describing Husein as a devoted public servant, father, and husband, Sheikh Osman appealed for his safe return, fearing he may have been kidnapped. “He is a peaceful man… If he’s been kidnapped, we plead — let him come back to us unharmed,” he added.
Local leaders have now joined the family in demanding swift action from security agencies. Wagberi MCA Aden Abdi Bulle called the situation a serious security concern. “This is a government officer heading a crucial institution. His disappearance cannot be taken lightly. DCI, NIS, all of them — must act now,” he emphasized.
Although the family has officially reported the matter to police, there have been no leads or updates on Husein’s whereabouts. What began as a routine workday has since turned into a harrowing nightmare for the Mohamed family, as the community anxiously awaits answers.
