Kipkelion East, KenyaEnergy and Petroleum Cabinet Secretary Opiyo Wandayi has reassured Kenyans that the country will maintain a stable supply of petroleum fuel despite the ongoing war in the Middle East involving Iran, the United States, and Israel.

Speaking during the launch of the last-mile electricity connectivity project at Tendeno Primary School in Kipkelion East constituency, Wandayi emphasized that the national government had implemented measures to ensure uninterrupted fuel availability.

“A major conflict has erupted in the Middle East, causing widespread concern not only in Kenya but globally. I want to assure you that regarding fuel, Kenyans should not worry. The government, under His Excellency President Dr. Ruto, has put in place comprehensive strategies to guarantee adequate fuel supply today, tomorrow, and in the future,” he said.

Government-to-Government Supply Arrangements

The Cabinet Secretary noted that the government is collaborating with international oil companies, including Saudi Aramco, Abu Dhabi National Oil Company, and Emirates Oil Company, under government-to-government supply agreements to secure a continuous fuel flow into the country.

“We are working very closely with these companies to ensure that fuel in Kenya will not run out,” CS Wandayi said.

Call Against Panic Buying

Wandayi warned citizens against stockpiling fuel at home, citing safety concerns, and urged the public to remain calm.

He further announced that the Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) will release the fuel prices for Kenya for the coming month on Saturday, reiterating that the government had ensured sufficient fuel supply so that Kenyans would not experience shortages.
