Digital creator and media personality Chebet Ronoh has spoken out about how society often mistreats confident women, saying many people dislike women who embrace their strengths and self-awareness.

In a post shared online on Monday, October 6, 2025, Ronoh reflected on her experiences, saying she now understands that people tend to feel uneasy when women express pride in their abilities. She drew comparisons to global stars like Beyoncé and Tyla, who have also faced backlash for their self-assurance.

“People hate when you proudly know yourself and are confident in your abilities,” Ronoh wrote. “They tore Beyoncé down for Bow Down when it was literally the truth. They tear Tyla every day because she knows who she is and refuses to be controlled.”

Ronoh noted that her confidence is often misinterpreted as arrogance, suggesting that some critics feel threatened by women who recognize their worth. Despite her achievements, she said people still try to undermine her success.

“Regardless of the evidence of my prowess, it’s like, ‘but you can’t say you’re better than others,’ which I didn’t. But that’s what you think about me—above you,” she explained. “When I claim my giftedness, you’re angry that I’m aware of it.”

The comedian and content creator affirmed that she will not downplay her confidence to make others comfortable, insisting she will remain proud of her talent and identity even when it attracts criticism.

In a follow-up post, Ronoh expressed skepticism toward compliments, saying she struggles to believe people who claim to support her.

“I actually never believe anyone who says they are happy or proud of me,” she wrote. “No, you are not. And the second you get the chance to talk down on me, you won’t waste it. I only trust God, fam.”

Ronoh’s remarks highlight her ongoing frustration with fake support and judgment from those uncomfortable with self-assured women. Still, she maintains that her faith and self-belief remain unshaken.
