Kenya Power has announced a series of scheduled power interruptions across several regions on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, to facilitate routine maintenance on its electricity distribution network.
In a notice issued Monday evening, the utility firm said the outage will run from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., affecting parts of Nairobi, North Rift, Western, and Mt. Kenya regions. The company urged residents and businesses in the listed areas to make alternative arrangements during the downtime.
Nairobi Region
In Nairobi, outages will affect Kariobangi South, Pioneer Phase 1 and 2, Buruburu Phase 5, KCC Village, and sections of Kangundo Road.
Key business and residential areas such as Kilimani, Jamhuri Estate, Yaya Centre, Prestige Plaza, Moi Girls Kibera, Toi Market, and parts of Ngong Road, Lenana Road, Dennis Pritt Road, and Argwings Kodhek Road will also experience interruptions.
North Rift Region
In the North Rift, parts of Uasin Gishu County, including Simat, Mutwot, Kisor Dispensary, and Tuiyo Kamotong, will be affected.
Western Region
Power cuts will hit several parts of Vihiga and Kakamega counties, including Musiri, Gamogi Market, Itiengere, Kapkerer, Malinda, Likindu Health Centre, Shibanga, Lukumbo, and Lunza, among others.
Mt. Kenya and Upper Eastern Regions
In Nyeri County, the outage will affect Mahiga, Ihithe, Thuti Factory, Munyange Market, Endarasha, Mahiga Girls, and Watuka Village, among others.
Other affected areas include parts of Murang’a, Embu, Kirinyaga, Tharaka Nithi, and Laikipia counties, with Kenya Power indicating that the maintenance exercise will enhance service reliability and system efficiency.
The company said the planned work is part of its ongoing network upgrade and preventive maintenance program aimed at minimizing unplanned outages in the future.
