Country music icon Dolly Parton, 79, has postponed her much-anticipated Las Vegas residency due to ongoing health concerns, prompting an outpouring of love and prayers from fans around the world.
The legendary singer, who was set to perform six shows at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in December, announced that the concerts would be rescheduled to September next year, explaining that she needs “a few procedures” to address ongoing “health challenges” and won’t have enough time to rehearse properly.
Her sister, Freida Parton, took to Facebook to ask fans to keep Dolly in their thoughts.
“Last night, I was up all night praying for my sister, Dolly,” Freida wrote. “Many of you know she hasn’t been feeling her best lately. I truly believe in the power of prayer, and I have been led to ask all of the world that loves her to be prayer warriors and pray with me.”
Freida added an encouraging note, saying Dolly remains strong and loved:
“With all the prayers being lifted for her, I know in my heart she’s going to be just fine. Godspeed, my sissy Dolly. We all love you!”
While Dolly has not disclosed the exact nature of her health issues, she recently missed a Dollywood event after being diagnosed with a kidney stone, which she said was causing “a lot of problems.” The setback comes during an emotionally challenging year for the singer, who lost her husband, Carl Dean, earlier in 2025 after nearly six decades of marriage. She later dedicated her heartfelt new song, If You Hadn’t Been There, to his memory.
Best known for timeless hits such as Jolene, 9 to 5, Coat of Many Colours, and I Will Always Love You, Parton’s postponed Las Vegas shows would have marked her first return to the Strip since the 1990s, when she performed alongside her late friend and duet partner Kenny Rogers.
As fans await her recovery and comeback, the music world continues to rally behind Dolly — a beloved global icon whose resilience, grace, and spirit have inspired generations.
