USA-based Kenyan TikTok creator Captain Sammir has addressed concerns over family interference in his marriage, issuing a strong warning to his wife, fellow TikToker Gilo Ntinyari, during a TikTok live session.
The livestream, aired on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, saw Sammir express frustration over comments made by Gilo’s sister during a previous session. “I am not the one to be controlled, so baby girl, if you love yourself and you love me, do not allow your family to interfere with me or think that they can tell you to come and interfere with my life,” he stated.
Sammir emphasised that he will not tolerate external influence in their relationship. He expressed particular irritation after an unknown individual prematurely ended one of their live sessions, despite having been granted access to his TikTok account. He warned that any future disruptions would carry serious consequences.
“I know who ended the live we were in. I gave that person all my TikTok logins, and it irks me that they ended my live. If anyone ends my live, they should know I will end theirs too, and more repercussions will follow,” Sammir asserted.
The content creator reinforced his boundaries, urging Gilo to ensure that family members do not intrude on their marriage or social media platforms. He stressed that their union, which took place just days after Sammir’s former partner Hanna Benta welcomed a newborn, is a private matter.
“I do not care how much you love your sister or others, but do not bring any nonsense onto my platforms. Do you understand that? My live can never be ended by anyone, and I am telling you the truth,” he said.
Note: Observers have suggested that the TikTok livestream may have been partly aimed at generating attention or online engagement rather than reflecting a private marital dispute.
Wedding Highlights
Sammir and Gilo tied the knot in a Catholic church in Meru, the bride’s hometown, in a ceremony attended by local community members, families, and close relatives. The wedding, reported by K24 Digital, occurred shortly after Sammir’s ex-girlfriend Hanna Benta welcomed a newborn.
A TikTok livestream from Saturday, January 3, 2026, captured Sammir walking Gilo down the aisle, accompanied by traditional Meru wedding songs. The ceremony featured a priest blessing the couple, the exchange of vows and rings, and dancing bridesmaids in green dresses, creating a culturally rich and vibrant celebration.
The couple’s nuptials and subsequent livestream interactions highlight their high-profile presence on social media while underscoring the challenges of maintaining privacy amid public attention.
