Anglican priest Padre Michael Watenga, popularly known as Padre wa Wote, has announced plans to extend his unique outreach mission to university campuses in Kenya, alongside his ongoing ministry in nightclubs across East Africa.
Speaking on his official TikTok account, Watenga revealed that his campus mission will focus exclusively on Kenyan universities.
“I will be extending my mission to East Africa and also to the universities of Kenya,” he said.
East Africa Nightclub Ministry
This announcement follows his earlier disclosure that his nightclub mission will expand to Tanzania and Uganda. Taking to social media on Sunday, December 14, 2025, Watenga said his visits to nightclubs in these countries will continue into December and 2026.
“The Mission now is officially moving to Uganda and Tanzania. Let’s always be led with love, not hate and judgment. #WhoMadeYouAJudge! It’s God’s work,” he wrote.
The priest held a special session at Alfakher Lounge in Nairobi on December 12, 2025, marking the continuation of his innovative approach to ministry, blending faith with nightlife.
Mission Philosophy and Campus Plans
Padre Watenga emphasized that his outreach focuses on preaching the gospel, offering prayers, and blessing people, regardless of their lifestyle choices. He noted that nightlife participants, including those who consume alcohol, are valuable individuals deserving of guidance and care.
“Nyinyi ni watu wa maana, you are an important person. Drunkers are human beings too. This gospel should go deeper than a bottle of alcohol. It should reach their hearts and transform their lives. I do not judge. Even Jesus did not judge. I meet everyone; I mingle with them,” he said.
He plans to expand his ministry from Nairobi to Nakuru, Kisumu, and other major towns across Kenya, inviting clubs and communities to participate in his mission.
“I have been thinking about it, praying about it, and asked permission from my superiors. I will be visiting different clubs, big and small, in different counties. I come to preach the gospel, pray, and bless people. I pray for you,” he added.
Padre Watenga’s approach reflects a modern and inclusive vision of ministry, reaching people in non-traditional spaces and emphasizing love, compassion, and spiritual guidance for all.
