Authorities in Keiyo South Sub-County, Elgeyo Marakwet County, have launched a manhunt for a man accused of illegally exhuming the body of his child in the Chepsigot area.
The incident occurred on January 17, 2026, at approximately 11:00 a.m., when Oliver Kiprop allegedly dug up the remains of his male child, who had passed away in 2022. Following the act, the suspect reportedly fled and is currently evading police.
The exhumed body was transported to the Iten mortuary for preservation, and authorities are making arrangements for reburial following the shocking incident. Investigations are ongoing as police seek to apprehend Kiprop and establish the circumstances surrounding the exhumation.
