Comedian and philanthropist Eric Omondi kicked off a massive charity walk on Monday, March 2, 2026, covering the 366-kilometre journey from Nairobi to the Busia border. The initiative, dubbed the “Walk of Love,” aims to raise funds for his Sisi Kwa Sisi Help and Rescue Centre, which will provide free healthcare, education, and rescue services to Kenyans.
A Star-Studded Start
Omondi was joined on the first leg by a large crowd and several celebrities, including sprint legend Ferdinand Omanyala and acclaimed Mugithi musician Samuel Muchoki. Many supporters walked alongside him through parts of the city, showing solidarity with the cause.
Continuing a Bold Vision
This is Omondi’s second major charity walk, following a 486-kilometre journey from Nairobi to Mombasa, which helped kickstart the Sisi Kwa Sisi Help and Rescue Centre project. The facility, currently under construction, will feature a safe house, two ambulances, a hospital, and a free secondary school for Kenyan communities in need.
Announcing the walk on February 23, Omondi stated on social media:
“Hey guys, I will be walking to the Busia border from Nairobi for 5 days from next week, Monday the 2nd to Friday. Sisi Kwa Sisi Help and Rescue Centre will provide free health care and education to Kenyans. I walked to Mombasa and raised funds to begin this project. I will keep walking until the SISI KWA SISI help and rescue centre is complete.”
Mobilising Support
Ahead of the walk, Omondi encouraged his followers to contribute, giving them the option to “buy a kilometre” for 20,000 Ksh to help reduce his miles or donate any amount to support the project via the provided Paybill. During a live broadcast of the event, he reiterated his commitment to seeing the rescue centre fully operational.
The five-day trek from Nairobi to Busia highlights Omondi’s ongoing dedication to philanthropy and underscores the power of community engagement in bringing large-scale social projects to life.
