Media personality and digital content creator Andrew Kibe has shed light on his complicated family dynamics, explaining why he chose to distance himself from his mother and maintain a selective relationship with his father.
In a candid interview with radio host Jacquey Nyaminde, popularly known as Wibroda, Kibe revealed that he and his mother do not speak due to a past fallout. “My mom and I do not talk at all; we had a fallout with her,” he disclosed, adding that reconciliation is unlikely, as he believes he is not at fault. “It is her issue; I am not perfect, but I have not wronged her. She is the one who has the problem,” Kibe said.
Limited Relationship with His Father
Kibe also opened up about his father, sharing that their relationship is cautious and limited. He recounted a time when he confronted his father for using inappropriate language online. “While on the rooftop, my father called me and told me he heard me speaking badly online. I told him no, we shall not do that; do not try to enter my head,” Kibe said.
The content creator further explained that his parents live separate lives and that he does not maintain regular contact with his father. “They are living two separate lives,” he noted. Kibe also stated that he does not visit his father, emphasizing his satisfaction with living independently. “I do not do that; if my children want to visit their grandfather, they can find him. I do not see the need—I am okay living by myself,” he added.
Valuing Independence
Throughout the interview, Kibe highlighted his commitment to personal space and autonomy. “I love it. Even for me, I will not invite people over,” he said, underlining his preference for maintaining a controlled, independent lifestyle.
As an author and public figure, Kibe’s candidness about his family life offers insight into how he balances personal boundaries with the responsibilities of parenthood and public life.
