Kenyan singer Bahati is celebrating a major career milestone after his latest release Seti amassed over one million views on YouTube just two days after its debut. The feat comes despite heated debate over the track’s explicit visuals and bold lyrical content.

In an Instagram video shared on Saturday, October 4, 2025, the EMB Records founder expressed excitement over the achievement, calling it historic for the Kenyan music industry. “Watoto wadogo nimewakalisha chini tumeandika history Guinness Book of Records. Wanafaa kuwa wananitafuta!” Bahati declared proudly.

According to the artist, Seti is more than just a new single—it is a record-breaker. He claimed it was the first Kenyan music video to surpass one million views within 24 hours of release. “This is the first video in Kenya to hit one million views in a day,” he said, adding that the success demonstrates his unmatched influence in the local music scene.

However, the song has divided opinion online. With provocative imagery and explicit lyrics, Seti sharply contrasts Bahati’s early image as a gospel artist. This shift has left many fans questioning whether he has completely abandoned his gospel roots.

Unfazed by the backlash, Bahati acknowledged another surprising record—becoming “the most disliked song in Kenya.” With over 17,000 dislikes and a similar number of likes, he argued the controversy only proves that audiences are paying attention. “Inamaanisha kuna watu wana-dislike lakini chini ya maji wanaiwatch,” he noted.

Despite the criticism, Bahati remains confident that more milestones lie ahead. “Kama before hii wiki iishe, tutakua tumevunja recordi mingi,” he said. “The king is back. The GOAT is back!”
