Former gospel disc jockey and musician Keziah Jerono has officially retired her stage name, DJ Kezz, following her recent conversion to Islam. The artist has updated her social media presence to reflect her new identity, now going by the name Zziah, marking a fresh start and a deeper commitment to her spiritual journey.
“Bye from DJ Kezz, Hello from Zziah,” she announced on Instagram on Tuesday, November 25, 2025.
Keziah’s conversion was first publicly shared on Friday, July 11, 2025, when she posted a heartfelt photo with her daughter, both dressed in Islamic attire, announcing that they had taken their Shahadah the central declaration of faith in Islam and its first pillar. She described the moment as the beginning of “the most beautiful chapter yet” in her life.
Fans responded with curiosity, which she confirmed by sharing, “Alhamdulillah. We’ve taken our Shahadah. This is the beginning of the most beautiful chapter yet! I am now a Muslim.” She also revealed her daughter’s Islamic name, Liyana.
Zziah rose to prominence as a Seventh‑day Adventist musician and gospel DJ. Her spiritual journey has been characterized by introspection, transformation, and a search for deeper meaning. In her reflections, she explained that her path to Islam was the result of years of spiritual exploration.
“My walk with God didn’t begin in church, and it didn’t end there. I’ve been walking a spiritual journey for years, asking hard questions, loving Jesus, studying faiths, and letting God speak in unexpected places,” she shared.
She emphasized that her decision to embrace Islam was deliberate and personal: “My choice to follow the Islamic path isn’t sudden, it’s sacred. It’s honest. It’s mine. I honour where I’ve been, and I honour where I’m going. Faith isn’t a box. It’s a calling. And I still answer.”
Previously, she was an active member of the SDA church, participating in the Msanii Music Group Choir and performing as a gospel DJ. Her conversion signifies a meaningful evolution in her spiritual life, as she embraces her new faith and identity.
