The Kenyan film and theatre community is in mourning following the death of actor Bilal Wanjau. Actress Sandra Dacha shared the news, revealing that Wanjau passed away on Thursday, December 4, 2025, at a Nairobi hospital due to complications related to diabetes.

“It is with profound sorrow that I announce the untimely passing of my colleague Bilal Wanjau this early morning due to diabetes complications,” Sandra stated. She added that the industry has lost one of its finest talents.

“Bilal was a GREAT TALENTED ACTOR! We have lost one of the BEST in the industry,” she said. Burial arrangements have been scheduled for Friday, December 5, 2025, at his rural home in Machakos. “Kindly keep the family in your prayers. May God rest his soul in eternal peace,” Sandra added.
