A Kenyan employee, recently seen in a viral video being harassed by his Chinese supervisor, has publicly forgiven his boss and expressed his desire to continue working at the company. The incident, which occurred at a workplace in Kenya and circulated widely on November 16, 2025, showed the Chinese manager attempting to kick the employee multiple times and striking him with what appeared to be an iron sheet. The footage sparked widespread public outrage, raising concerns about workplace safety and the treatment of Kenyan employees.
Choosing Forgiveness
When asked if he had forgiven his boss, the worker stated, “Yes, I have forgiven him and moved on. I still want to do my job. Next time there’s an issue, we can discuss it in the office, and I will accept my mistakes. I won’t listen to what people say about it. It’s over; he is my boss.”
His statement reflects a desire to resolve future workplace conflicts through dialogue rather than escalation, demonstrating professionalism and restraint.
Official Condemnation
Nairobi County Environment Chief Officer Geoffrey Mosiria condemned the incident, highlighting it as part of a troubling trend of workplace harassment that must be addressed. He referenced previous cases, including incidents in Diani where foreign nationals were reported to have mistreated police officers, and stressed that all individuals in Kenya, locals or visitors, must adhere to the law and respect workplace norms.
“Some of our guests are misusing the freedom they enjoy in our peaceful nation. Yet if a Kenyan tried the same in their home country, they would face serious consequences,” Mosiria said, emphasizing that abusive behavior should never be tolerated.
The worker’s decision to forgive his boss has sparked discussions about workplace respect, conflict resolution, and the responsibility of employers to ensure safe and lawful work environments.
