She helped me gain recognition and ultimately secure my Senate seat. We repeated this success together in 2017,” the governor shared.

Bishop Ben Kiengei, head pastor of JCM and a close friend of Bayo, also honoured her legacy. In a Facebook post, he reflected on her journey to prominence with the hit song “Eleventh Hour,” praising her for living a life devoted to worship, community service, and pursuing her potential through music and ministry.

“Beatrice Wairimu Mbugua, famously known as Betty Bayo, rose to prominence with her uplifting song ‘Eleventh Hour.’ She lived joyfully, devoted to praising God and serving her community, until she was diagnosed with advanced-stage leukaemia,” Kiengei wrote.
