Kenyan content creator Lydia Wanjiru has candidly shared details of her recent cosmetic makeover, revealing that she underwent a full body recomposition after losing 34 kilograms.

Speaking on Friday, January 23, 2026, Lydia explained that the transformation was necessary due to her natural body structure and the limitations of diet and exercise alone.

“I didn’t take a shortcut, I took care of myself,” she said.

Why Surgery Was Necessary

Lydia revealed that certain areas of her body did not respond to gym and diet, particularly her lower abdomen.

“That lower tummy that gym and diet can’t fix? My doctors removed almost 2kgs of it,” she explained.

The procedure, known as a tummy tuck, removed excess loose skin that had formed after her significant weight loss.

Total Body Recomposition

Her makeover included:

  • Tummy tuck – removal of excess skin and fat
  • Liposuction 360 – contouring fat around the entire torso
  • Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) – reshaping and enhancing body proportions

Together, these procedures completed her total body recomposition. Lydia stressed that not everyone requires all three surgeries, noting that each body is unique and needs a personalised approach.

“Some need two or even just one,” she said, adding that the surgeries were not shortcuts but steps to care for her body and health.

Cost and Investment

Lydia disclosed that the surgeries alone cost between Ksh1 million and Ksh1.2 million. When pre-operation and post-operation care were included, the total rose to about Ksh1.8 million.

She emphasised that the investment covered medical checks, recovery, and aftercare critical elements for safe and effective results.

A Journey of Confidence and Self-Care

Lydia said she approached the makeover carefully, following all medical advice and planning the process with a clear understanding of the outcomes she wanted.

“With my original Kikuyu appearance, there was no other way out,” she explained.

The surgeries, she added, allowed her to reshape her body safely and achieve the confidence she desired.

Inspiring Others

Describing the makeover as life-changing, Lydia hopes her story will inspire others to understand that body transformations require patience, medical guidance, and self-care.

“I didn’t take shortcuts; I took care of myself,” she reiterated, highlighting the importance of responsible cosmetic procedures.

Conclusion

Lydia Wanjiru’s openness about her journey underscores the growing conversation around cosmetic surgery in Kenya. Her experience demonstrates that with careful planning, medical guidance, and self-awareness, such procedures can be transformative not just physically, but emotionally and mentally.
