Dar es Salaam, Tanzania – Celebrated Bongo Flava star Mbwana Yusuf Kilungi, popularly known as Mbosso, has officially introduced his younger brother, Mohammed Kilungi, to fans, putting an end to weeks of speculation about the teenager’s striking resemblance to him.
Family Introduction
In an Instagram post on Saturday, January 31, 2026, the Pawa hitmaker confirmed that Mohammed is his biological sibling. Mbosso encouraged fans to interact with him directly and shared his official Instagram handle.
“Do you have anything to tell my younger brother, whom I call Little Mbosso? His Instagram account is @mohammedkilungi,” he wrote, warning against fake accounts using his brother’s photos.
Mohammed had gone viral after featuring prominently in Mbosso’s latest music video, Darasa la Saba, sparking curiosity among fans about his identity.
To further clarify, Mbosso released another video introducing his entire family. He showcased his mother, sister Mwana Idi Kilungi, and brother Salumu Kilungi, alongside Mohammed.
“I am introducing the Kilungi family: this is our mother, this is my sister named Mwana Idi, this is another brother named Salumu Kilungi, and this last one is Mohammed Kilungi,” Mbosso said.
Teacher’s Surprise
In a separate heartwarming gesture, Mbosso travelled more than 388 kilometres to honour a primary school teacher who had creatively adapted his hit song Pawa into a motivational anthem for students.
The teacher reworked the lyrics to inspire learners to focus on education, replacing the original lines with verses encouraging discipline and hard work.
Moved by the effort, Mbosso organised a convoy of high-end cars and delivered much-needed educational resources, including printers and supplies, to ease the teacher’s burden of travelling long distances to print school materials.
The surprise overwhelmed the teacher, who expressed deep gratitude:
“Truly, you have honoured us greatly. As a community, not just this village but the entire mountain, you have given us respect. We are grateful for your support as well,” he said.
