Police in Molo have arrested two suspects believed to be behind a recent burglary at the Molo National Government Constituencies Development Fund (NG-CDF) offices, where several electronic items were stolen earlier this week.

Confirming the arrests, Molo Sub-County Police Commander Timon Odingo said the two were apprehended following critical intelligence gathered during investigations.

“We have been pursuing important leads, and I’m glad to report that we’ve made significant progress. The suspects are now in custody and will face the law once investigations are complete,” Odingo said.

Among the recovered items are computers, laptops, a gas cylinder, a printing machine, and other electronics stolen from the NG-CDF offices. Police said the suspects will be arraigned in the Molo Law Courts once investigations are finalised.

Swift Action and Heightened Security

Molo NG-CDF Chairperson Jane Gachathi commended the police for their quick response and successful recovery of the stolen equipment. She noted that new security measures had been implemented at the premises to prevent future incidents.

“We appreciate the efforts of the police in ensuring justice is served. We’ve enhanced security within the premises to protect public property,” Gachathi said.

She also urged residents to remain alert and report any suspicious behaviour to local authorities to help curb criminal activity in the region.

Separate Police Operation in Isiolo

In a related development, police officers in Isiolo County successfully recovered 21 stolen sheep and goats after intercepting livestock thieves during a joint operation in the Burat area.

According to a statement from the National Police Service (NPS), the recovery was made following coordinated patrols conducted by officers from Kulamawe Police Station and National Police Reservists (NPRs).

The operation, which covered LMD, KMC, Mlango, and Leparua about 25 kilometres west of the police station was aided by local elders who provided crucial intelligence on the thieves’ movements.

“During the operation, officers engaged local elders who assisted in the recovery of the 21 animals, which were later handed over to their rightful owner,” the NPS statement said.

Police have reiterated their commitment to strengthening community partnerships to combat theft and other crimes across the country.
