Kitui County, Kenya – Police have arrested two suspects after recovering 30 rounds of live ammunition from a public service vehicle intercepted at a security roadblock in Lower Yatta Sub-County.
A multi-agency security team manning a roadblock along the Garissa–Thika Highway in the Kanyonyoo area said officers stopped the vehicle on Tuesday and conducted a thorough search.
Ammunition Discovery
During the inspection, police recovered a backpack left on a passenger seat. Inside, officers found 30 rounds of ammunition, which were immediately secured as evidence.
The suspects were arrested on the spot and escorted to Kanyonyoo Police Station for processing ahead of arraignment. The vehicle was detained as part of the ongoing investigation.
