Moscow, Russia – Russian President Vladimir Putin met with Egypt’s Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty at the Kremlin to discuss the ongoing conflict in the Middle East and opportunities for economic cooperation.
During the talks, Putin emphasized Russia’s willingness to assist in stabilizing the region.
“Russia is ready to do everything in our power to help restore the situation to a normal, stable state,” he said.
A key topic of discussion was food security, with Putin highlighting Russia’s capacity to supply grain.
“We have absolutely no problems with our harvest or future deliveries,” he added, noting that his government has been instructed to coordinate with Egypt on boosting food supplies.
Egypt’s foreign minister expressed gratitude for Russia’s support on both energy and food security, highlighting ongoing cooperation on wheat and grain imports.
“We value Russia’s backing in ensuring energy and food stability,” Abdelatty said, confirming Egypt’s intention to participate in the Russia–Africa Summit scheduled for October.
The meeting underscores Moscow’s efforts to strengthen ties with key partners in the Middle East and Africa amid continuing regional instability. Both leaders expressed hope that tensions in the region would ease in the coming months, paving the way for deeper economic collaboration.
“Cairo looks forward to securing long-term grain and energy supplies from Moscow,” analysts noted, as the two countries explore ways to bolster trade and regional stability.
