The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has arrested two suspects accused of orchestrating a scheme to publish and circulate fake Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) 2025 results slips, targeting candidates and parents with false promises of grade manipulation.

In a statement, the DCI identified the suspects as Albert Kerry Nyadianga and David Opiyo, also known as “G.O.A.T.” Investigators say the two allegedly lured unsuspecting victims by claiming they could “upgrade” KCSE results in exchange for a fee.

According to the DCI, Opiyo, who is a primary school teacher, is believed to have administered an online group dubbed “KCSE 2025 Grade Upgrading,” which reportedly has a following of more than 45,000 users. Authorities further revealed that Opiyo was active in several other online forums associated with examination fraud claims, including KNEC Legit Papers and Upgrading, Group Booster Support, KNEC/KASNEB/ICM/CDA, and KNEC Grade Editing, among others.

The arrests followed a joint operation by DCI officers and the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC). Nyadianga was apprehended in Kisumu, while Opiyo was arrested in Ongata Rongai.

A forensic examination of the suspects’ mobile devices uncovered images of counterfeit KCSE results slips and other examination-related materials that had been circulating on social media platforms.

The DCI has cautioned the public to remain vigilant against fraudsters offering grade manipulation services, reiterating that KCSE results are secure, tamper-proof, and cannot be altered by intermediaries or third parties.

The two suspects are currently being held in police custody pending arraignment in court. Meanwhile, investigators have launched a manhunt for other individuals believed to be involved in the scam as authorities intensify efforts to dismantle networks exploiting examination candidates and their families.
