The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) has reaffirmed its commitment to fully implementing the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed with the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM), including the 10-point agenda agreed with the late Raila Odinga.

Speaking at a UDA delegates’ meeting in Vihiga, Secretary-General Hassan Omar emphasized that all elements of the broad-based government arrangement, including recommendations from the NADCO report, will be executed as planned.

“We in UDA will honour Raila Odinga’s commitment, ensuring that every agreement he reached with President William Ruto is implemented word for word. This is the greatest tribute we can pay to the fallen hero,” Omar said. He added that the coalition will advance the proposed governance structure, strengthen the economy, and realise every recommendation outlined in the NADCO report and the 10-point agenda.

Omar further highlighted the importance of cooperation between UDA and ODM, stressing that achieving these goals reflects Odinga’s vision for unity. “We as UDA and ODM will work together to ensure this goal is achieved. It was Baba’s wish that we unite,” he said.

Lamu Governor Issa Timamy called on the Luhya community to support the UDA candidate in the upcoming Malava by-election, describing the contest as pivotal for shaping the political landscape ahead of the 2027 General Election. “This vote is crucial for the Western region and for Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi. The seat must be won by UDA. Even if others combine forces, they cannot defeat us,” Timamy said.

Host MP and UDA deputy secretary-general Omboko Milemba said the meeting aimed to strengthen the party’s grassroots presence following the merger with ANC. “This gathering allowed UDA leaders to connect with the grassroots like never before,” he added.
