Kenya is set to make a celebrated return to the global Miss International Beauty Pageant in 2025, marking a historic and symbolic comeback to one of the world’s most prestigious beauty contests.
The Miss International Kenya organization, in collaboration with the Young People’s Network International (TYPN), has officially crowned Fridah Muthoni Kariuki as Miss International Kenya 2025. Kariuki, who previously held the Miss Tourism Africa title, will represent the country at the Miss International 2025 competition in Tokyo, Japan.
Her appointment marks the end of Kenya’s hiatus from the international stage and reignites the nation’s presence in a pageant renowned for celebrating beauty, intelligence, and cultural diversity.
“This is more than a crown — it’s a moment of representation and a call for young African women to rise, lead, and make their mark,” the Miss International Kenya organization said in a statement.
Kenya’s participation in Miss International dates back to the early years of the global event, where the country consistently showcased its beauty, culture, and intellect with pride. Through the years, Kenyan representatives have used the platform to advocate for social change and promote cultural heritage under the theme of “beauty with purpose.”
The nation’s last appearance was in 2022, when Cindy Isendi represented Kenya and received praise for her elegance, cultural representation, and advocacy efforts, reaffirming Kenya’s tradition of grace on the world stage.
Now, under TYPN’s leadership, Muthoni Kariuki’s appointment signals a new chapter of empowerment, cultural pride, and purposeful representation for Kenya. Her participation not only celebrates Kenya’s return to the Miss International platform but also inspires a new generation of young women to lead with confidence and authenticity.
