Multitalented musician and songwriter Bien‑Aimé Baraza recently shared a behind-the-scenes moment from a Sauti Sol concert where he had to ask a fan to leave the venue. Speaking on the MicCheque podcast on Wednesday, November 3, 2025, Bien reflected on the challenges of managing audience dynamics while performing.

While discussing Burna Boy’s recent encounter with a fan, Bien expressed admiration for the Nigerian singer, describing him as “uncancelable.” He also recounted a similar situation he faced, noting that performers sometimes need to make tough decisions to maintain the energy of the show.

“If someone is sleeping, I usually check on them or just focus on the rest of the audience enjoying the performance,” he said. “But if I see someone sapping the energy, I deal with it because there are many people watching who want to vibe with the music.”

Bien explained that subtle cues from the crowd can impact the overall performance. Protecting the show’s energy and ensuring both the audience and performers have a great experience is part of the responsibility of being on stage.

He also revealed a specific instance when he asked a fan to be removed after the person disrespected Sauti Sol band member Chimano. “There was a moment during a show when someone was disrespecting Chimano. I had to stop the show and say, ‘Get this person out immediately,’” he shared, emphasizing that such decisions are made only when necessary.

“Sometimes, you have to remove someone from the show because of disrespectful behavior,” he added, highlighting the balance performers must strike between audience care and maintaining a positive environment.
