Media personality Andrew Kibe has once again sparked debate after strongly cautioning men against pursuing relationships or marriage.
Speaking during a YouTube interview on Monday, September 29, 2025, Kibe argued that the biggest mistake a man can make is getting into a relationship. He described marriage as a trap that robs men of their independence, freedom, and personal growth.
Reflecting on his own past, Kibe noted that he only realized the value of freedom after losing it during his marriage. “That freedom is what I had, and then I got into marriage. And then I didn’t get that freedom,” he said.
Kibe’s Anti-Marriage Stance
Kibe has long been outspoken against marriage, often warning young men not to succumb to societal pressure to settle down. He believes the institution is glamorized as a symbol of success, while in reality, it can hold men back from fulfilling their potential.
According to him, men waste too much time and energy chasing relationships that add little or no value to their lives. Instead, he insists, men should prioritize self-development, career growth, and independence.
“The biggest mistake a man can make is getting into a relationship. Focus on building upon yourself. Achana na mambo ya watoi, hizo ni useless,” he said during the interview.

Kibe has often pointed to his failed marriage as the foundation of his tough stance. He likens marriage to a cage—appealing from the outside but restrictive once inside. This perspective has shaped his mission to caution men about what he sees as unnecessary pressure to marry.
