Ganze, Kilifi County – Leaders allied to the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) held their fourth day of political mobilisation in Ganze on Saturday, calling on residents to back President William Ruto and the party’s development agenda.

The forums, described by the leaders as sensitisation efforts, are part of a broader regional tour aimed at strengthening grassroots support along the Coast and highlighting what they described as the government’s record on economic development.

During the rally, leaders cited ongoing and completed projects in Kilifi County, noting their impact on livelihoods and economic opportunities.

UDA Secretary General Hassan Omar urged residents to register as party members, emphasizing the party’s focus on tackling persistent social and economic challenges.

“UDA’s focus is on addressing long-standing social and economic challenges in the region,” Omar said, adding that the Coast has witnessed “improved stability compared to past periods marked by insecurity and tensions.”

Youth Affairs, Creative Economy and Sports Cabinet Secretary Salim Mvurya highlighted the Coast’s strengthened representation in national governance.

“The region’s representation in government has placed it at the centre of decision-making,” he said, urging continued support for the administration to benefit from ongoing programmes.

Senate Speaker Amason Kingi echoed the President’s earlier assurances, stating that the Coast’s support “would not be taken for granted” and reaffirming the government’s commitment to bridging historical development gaps in the region.

UDA deputy party leader Issa Timamy said coastal leaders are increasingly united behind the government’s development agenda.

“Leaders are committed to ensuring the region benefits from national programmes,” he said.

The rally also saw the leaders throw their weight behind UDA gubernatorial aspirant Aisha Jumwa, encouraging residents to participate in party membership drives and calling for an open, competitive nomination process without zoning restrictions.

The mobilisation tour is expected to continue in Kwale County, as leaders prepare for the fifth day of engagements along the Coast.
