Nyamira Governor Amos Nyaribo is once again under intense political scrutiny after Members of the County Assembly (MCAs) launched a renewed effort to remove him from office.
During a special sitting, the Assembly formally tabled a fresh impeachment motion against the governor.
The motion, introduced by Bonyamatuta Ward MCA Julius Kimwomi Matwere, calls for deliberation on claims of gross constitutional violations and abuse of office. This latest attempt to impeach Governor Nyaribo comes amid increased pressure tied to a corruption investigation involving a Ksh382 million tender.
The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) recently raided the governor’s homes and several county offices as part of the probe, further intensifying the political storm surrounding his administration.
