Nairobi, Kenya – Veteran Kenyan rapper and entrepreneur King Kaka offered an unvarnished reflection on his personal and professional journey in a recent interview on Lessons At 30 with Dr. Ofweneke, describing how pain has shaped his purpose and resilience.

The artist, whose real name is Kennedy Ombima, spoke openly about his life after the end of his 13‑year marriage, calling the period a pivotal turning point professionally and personally.

“The change was hard on me… Like everyone else, I have feelings and emotions; I had to go through what I went through, but the ability of me standing up and saying okay juu watu wengi huwa wanakwama kwa that space,” King Kaka said, highlighting how confronting his own pain helped him move forward.

He described the breakup as difficult but ultimately transformative, noting that it motivated him to explore new interests including learning to cook from scratch and launching a YouTube cooking show to share his journey publicly.

“In one year, I have learned how to cook… I wanted to learn publicly, mistakes and all, so fans could share in my journey,” he explained.

King Kaka’s candid reflections underscore a broader theme of resilience and reinvention, resonating with fans who have watched him evolve from music pioneer to cultural commentator and online creator.
