Renowned motivational speaker and pastor Robert Burale has filed a defamation lawsuit against his ex-wife Rozina Mwakideu and her brother, media personality Alex Mwakideu, over a YouTube video published on Alex Mwakideu’s official channel.
According to court documents filed under a certificate of urgency at the Milimani Commercial Magistrate Court on October 8, 2025, Burale accuses the two of spreading false and damaging statements about him through a video posted on October 4, 2025.
Court Orders Sought
Burale is seeking several injunctions from the court, including:
- A restraining order preventing Alex Mwakideu from publishing or making any further statements about him pending the case’s determination.
- An order to delete and permanently remove the YouTube video in question, along with any related content deemed defamatory.
- A prohibition against social media users sharing or reposting the contested video or any of its contents.
In addition, Burale has requested that both Rozina and Alex Mwakideu be compelled to issue a formal public apology acknowledging the falsehood of the defamatory claims. He also wants the apology to receive wide media coverage, including being posted on Alex Mwakideu’s YouTube channel.
Public Retraction and Apology Sought
Burale’s application further asks the court to direct the respondents to:
- Withdraw and publicly retract all defamatory statements made in the video.
- Appeal to the public to stop sharing or engaging with the video or related content.
- Ensure full deletion of any downloaded or reposted versions of the video across platforms.
Next Steps
The court is expected to review Burale’s application before scheduling a hearing to determine whether temporary injunctions will be granted.
Neither Alex Mwakideu nor Rozina Mwakideu has issued an official public response to the lawsuit as of this publication.
