President William Ruto will this afternoon, Thursday, November 20, deliver his State of the Nation address during a joint sitting of Parliament, beginning at 2pm.

The Head of State is expected to highlight progress made under his administration, even as he faces intensified criticism over key promises that remain unfulfilled since he assumed office in 2022.

In his third State of the Nation address, President Ruto is set to centre his remarks on the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA), the flagship policy framework that has encountered significant implementation hurdles.

The President is also expected to provide updates on several major government initiatives, including the Affordable Housing programme, the Hustler Fund, the country’s public debt position both domestic and external the Social Health Insurance Fund (SHIF), and reforms to university funding and policy structures.
